When I first started having lessons with Anne, I was a keen but inexperienced “bush rider”. I had not ever attempted dressage “English” riding and was sceptical about stories I had heard regarding dressage riding.
Anne was extremely supportive and experienced and I was quite a nervous rider. My horse, whilst being a very gentle, kind natured boy, had it all over me. If I asked something of him, he would quite often put his hoof down and ignore me!
Anne has taught me how to be firm but kind and teach my horse that “no” is not an option. I have learnt a lot about the movement of my horse, what he is capable of, what I am capable of and how by working together, we have become an awesome team!
Each week we work on building our bond, doing our “physio” exercises, which have enabled me to continue riding my horse into his elderly years. I am sure that without Anne’s guidance, he would have been an early retiree as he has had his fair share of flexibility issues.
Without Anne, I would not be the rider I am today and I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful four-legged friend, who now respects me and is prepared to try anything that I ask of him. With Anne’s guidance, experience and tutorial, I now enjoy my riding so much more!
Thank you Anne!
